Fun at the Willy Street Fair

Like most parents who took their kids to the Willy Street Fair this past weekend, the bulk of my experience consisted of Blue Moon ice cream and bubbles. That being said, Ben did also get to see his first concert, Venus in Furs, so I'll call it a win.

Sarah + Andrew at the Rotary Botanical Gardens

Sarah and Andrew had a wedding day portrait session at the Rotary Botanical Gardens in Janesville, WI instead of a traditional ceremony. The grounds were brilliant and colorful, just like this couple. I particularly loved the bow tie and suspenders for him, and tea-length dress with blue sash for her!

Serendipitous Senior Portraits with Casey

A few weeks ago, I met Casey and her mother in Paoli for a senior portrait session. It's a really small, and really lovely town, south of Madison, WI. As we wandered around looking for interesting settings, we came across an antique shop that just had all their furniture, and barn doors, and all manner of other neat things out on display. The owner practically demanded that we use them as props and I was happy to oblige, so we ended up with some really neat shots!

Ashley + Christopher Engagement Portraits

I love engagement portraits because they offer a rare hour or two with just the happy couple - plenty to time to capture personality and love in a relaxed setting. It also allows the couple to experience having a camera trained on them for an extended period of time, which is invaluable on the wedding day itself.

Ashley and Christopher chose the magic hour for their portraits, and I couldn't be happier with how they turned out! *swoon*

October 5th is the Forever In Our Hearts Remembrance Day

Hi Friends,

Rob and I wanted to take the time to talk with you about something that is really important to us.

We will be donating our time this upcoming October 5th for the Forever In Our Hearts Remembrance Day at Promega's BioPharmaceutical Technology Center in Madison.

This Remembrance Day is to honor families who have lost babies through miscarriage, stillbirth, or in early infancy.  This Third Annual Forever in Our Hearts Remembrance Day is being planned by local bereaved parents and Madison area non-profit Mikayla's Grace.

October is the nationally recognized month of Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness, and so we come together to offer support and hope for bereaved parents in the Madison and surrounding areas.

Rob and I are touched personally by this issue, and we know that many others are too. If you or someone you know has lost a baby to miscarriage, stillbirth, or in early infancy, please spread the word about this event and get the word out to anyone you know who could benefit from the support this event offers to bereaved parents.
